The National Development and Reform Commission recently released the operation of the nonferrous metal industry in August. In August, the output of ten non-ferrous metals increased by 15.6% year on year, and the growth rate was 7.4 percentage points faster than that of the previous year.
 
Data released by the National Development and Reform Commission showed that the output of electrolytic aluminum rose 21.9 percent, 11 percentage points faster. The output of electrolytic copper and lead rose by 29.2% and 1.5% respectively, and the output of zinc fell by 4.2%.
 
In addition to electrolytic aluminum, the main non-ferrous metal prices fell slightly. The average spot prices of copper, lead and zinc in the domestic market in That month were 68,680 yuan/ton, 16,553 yuan/ton and 17,735 yuan/ton respectively, down 5.3%, 3.6% and 4% from the previous month, and up 18.4%, 1.8% and 4.4% year-on-year. The price of electrolytic aluminum is 18,140 yuan/ton, up 0.1% over last month and 18.4% year on year.
 
From January to August, China's output of ten non-ferrous metals reached 22.88 million tons, up 11% year-on-year, and the growth rate slowed down 15.5 percentage points year-on-year. The output of electrolytic aluminum was 11.74 million tons, up 8.9%, down 28.5 percentage points. Electrolytic copper output increased by 16.3%, slowing down by 1.2 percentage points; Lead production increased 17.5%, up 15.1%. Zinc production grew 5.4%, slowing 18.5 percentage points. Alumina production grew 19.3 percent, slowing 18.3 percent.
 
From January to July, the non-ferrous metals industry realized a profit of 124.3 billion yuan, up 57.3 percent year on year. Among them, the profit of non-ferrous metal mining was 39.7 billion yuan, up 58.9%; The profit of non-ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing industry reached 84.6 billion yuan, up 56.5%.
